The information presented on the encyclopedic platform ‘Wikipedia’, on the topic of ‘homeopathic medicine’, is severely biased!
Dana Ullman, evidence based homeopath, has composed an open letter to Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, outlining some of the misinformation contained in the Wikipedia-article on homeopathy, and has provided evidence refuting the same. He demands a rectification of the incorrectly presented details on homeopathy. The letter was also signed by other experts in the field of homeopathy, complementary medicine, health and medicine.

According to a recent study, using CAM in healthcare is a cost-effective alternative to conventional practice. An economic evaluation of the cost of CAM compared to conventional medicine, appraised in a 6-year study in Holland, showed that CAM was generally less expensive than conventional treatment. Furthermore this study came to the conclusion that mortality rates of patients treated with CAM compared to conventional medicine was equivalent.

Professor Luc Montagnier, Nobel Prize in Medicine, will be presenting at the first scientific symposium at the UNESCO in Paris, on “the emergence and possible societal and medical implications of a new paradigm in biology: electromagnetic waves and their relationship to the properties of water”.
“This symposium will provide a synthesis of the research conducted over many years by Professor Luc Montagnier.”

The German producer of homeopathic remedies, DHU (Deutsche Homöopatische Union) has changed its representative in Portugal. According to personal contact with DHU in Germany (July 2014), this already came into effect at the end of 2011. The new representative is:

According to an article in the renowned German magazine ‘Der Spiegel’, in palliative care, the use of alternative treatment approaches leads to an increased quality of life. With CAM treatments, in particular fear and pain are effectively reduced. The use of CAM therapies in palliative care is increasing.

The plans for a University accredited course leading to a Bachelor of Science in Homeopathy at a German University in Bavaria, have been put on ice following opposition from critics but also flaws in the accreditation proceedings. The idea for this course had been initiated in 2011 but was finally abandoned following the controversies this March.

While it has been reported that HEEL, the producer of complex homeopathic preparations, will discontinue its presence in Northern America, it has now emerged that a new company, MEDINATURA, will be taking over the premises and production lines. The products to be manufactured at the plant, are said to undergo minor re-compositioning and re-naming, in order to be differentiable from the original HEEL products.

Europe’s first wine produced from grapes that only had homeopathic treatment, is a vinho verde (green wine) produced in Portugal. This initially happened January 2011.
